We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our abrasives manufacturing team. This role is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC machines used in the production of abrasive products, ensuring high-quality standards, efficiency, and safety in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Reports to: Production Supervisor
Salary Range: $23.00 - $26.00 depending on experience and skill level.
Shifts: 6:00am – 2:30pm and 2:30pm – 11pm

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (lathes) used in abrasives production
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
  • Adjust machine settings to ensure precision and product quality
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment
  • Inspect finished products using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Ensure products meet specifications and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to improve processes
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
  • 1–3+ years of CNC machining or manufacturing experience (abrasives or similar industry a plus)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Familiarity with CNC programming (G-code) is preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools
  • Basic computer skills for machine interface and reporting
  • Ability to communicate, read and write in English.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk bend, stoop, twist for extended periods
  • Lift and carry up to 70 lbs occasionally
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and machinery
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity to safely operate machinery, read gauges and warning indicators, and identify hazards in a manufacturing environment, with or without corrective lenses.
Work Environment
  • Industrial manufacturing plant (abrasives production)
  • Exposure to dust, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required at all times

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with grinding or abrasive materials manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
  • Forklift certification
