JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Quality Inspector
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Quality & EHS Supervisor
Basic Function:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for in-process and final inspection of product by verifying dimensions to a blueprint. The inspector will ensure that the product is to print and meets customer specifications. Additionally, the inspector will be responsible for calibrating equipment.

Basic Function:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for in-process and final inspection of product by verifying dimensions to a blueprint. The inspector will ensure that the product is to print and meets customer specifications. Additionally, the inspector will be responsible for calibrating equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure quality specifications are met for all product produced as compared to the blueprint.
- Measure product with various measuring instruments.
- Visually inspect the product for any defects or missing operations.
- Perform incoming inspection on vendor cores per instructions.
- Perform a variety of product testing.
- Manage returned goods.
- Compile and maintain daily records.
- Conduct Periodic Job Observations (PJO’s) and departmental audits.
- Resolve problems with instruments, test methods, lab chemicals, standards and samples
- Report non-conforming and scrap products in the production area.
- Oversee established calibration and testing program.
- All other duties as assigned by leadership.
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to use various measuring instruments proficiently.
- Proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of inspection techniques and manufacturing.
- Excellent decision-making skills.
Experience and Education:
- Minimum of 2 years dimensional quality experience is preferred.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical data, drawings and charts.
- Experience using a micrometer, caliper and other measuring devices.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- 20/20 vision required with or without correction.
- Ability to use hands, stand, and or walk 75% of the workday.
- Ability to exert physical force to push, pull, lift or carry 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in shop environment
