Radiac Abrasives, Inc., a leading manufacturer of conventional bonded and super abrasives is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team at our Corporate Office in Oswego, Illinois.  For more than 100 years, Radiac has delivered industry leading technology and quality products and service to the metal finishing industry. Radiac is a TYROLIT Company that is owned by the Swarovski Group which is headquartered in Schwaz, Austria.

Annual Salary Range for this bonus eligible position is $70,000 to $98,000.

Position Summary
The Staff Accountant supports the Finance Department in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for general accounting functions, sales and use tax compliance, inventory accounting, and participation in month-end close and audit processes. The ideal candidate has strong manufacturing accounting experience and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries as part of the monthly close process
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Manage multi-state sales and use tax filings
  • Assist with inventory accounting, including physical inventories and cycle counts
  • Analyze manufacturing variances (labor, material, overhead)
  • Support standard costing and inventory valuation processes
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Partner with operations and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for leadership

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with Accounting concentration required
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
  • Understanding of cost accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other company locations

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with standard costing
  • Multi-site inventory experience
  • Audit exposure

Work Environment
This position operates in both an office and manufacturing plant environment and may require periodic presence on the production floor during inventory or operational reviews.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to read and analyze detailed information on a computer screen.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
